Behind the Scenes of the B Corp Certification Process: 2 key steps deciphered

Following our previous presentation detailing the different stages of the Meelo certification process, we would like to highlight two stages which aroused a certain apprehension on our part: the active phase of the audit and the interview with the auditor, by adopting a tone more formal, while retaining a certain enthusiasm.
B Corp certification

The first steps of B Corp certification: A demanding audit

The process begins with a rigorous audit during which Meelo must not only deepen its answers to around fifty questions, but also provide tangible evidence of its commercial, social and environmental practices. A palpable energy is manifested in the need to delve deeper into each answer, to reveal the behind-the-scenes of the company and to translate all the documents, because the audit takes place in English. Opting for this language allows us to reduce processing times by an auditor, particularly in the international context of our activity.

Thus, adapting our documents guarantees their understanding on a global scale. At this stage, the objective is to answer with the greatest precision the questions of the auditor, who progressively validates the answers while adjusting the number of points associated with them. For our part, no loss of points during the audit, total satisfaction!

The caring interview: understanding the essence of Meelo

The evaluation interview transforms into a scene where the listener, imbued with kindness, seeks to fully understand Meelo's activities. It’s a moment where palpable energy morphs into an inspiring narrative of the company’s mission, values and motivations for embracing CSR certification.

The auditor carefully explores Meelo's specific choice to adopt  B Corp certification . The reasons behind this decision become the thread of the conversation, highlighting the importance of positive impact and sustainability in the company's overall strategy.

Deepening in French specificities

The energy transforms into an in-depth analysis of French specificities. The healthcare system, the obligations of companies, data protection according to the GDPR – every aspect is examined with a careful eye. The caring listener seeks to understand how Meelo fits into the French social fabric while maintaining its commitments to CSR.

It is a journey towards public recognition of Meelo's sincere commitment to social responsibility. The palpable energy of each step is the driving force behind this achievement, highlighting that B Corp certification is much more than a seal – it is a celebration of a company that embraces the energy of positive change .

Meelo IBAN verification to secure payments

IBAN verification: a necessity in the face of the rise in banking fraud

The IBAN, or International Bank Account Number, has become a central element in financial transactions, particularly in the context of SEPA transfers. Its role: to precisely identify a bank account in the international network. However, this identifier, however structured, can become a gateway for fraud.
According to the annual report of the Observatory for the Security of Payment Methods (OSMP), published in September 2024, bank transfer fraud represented €312 million in 2023. Nearly half of this fraud (48%) is "fake IBAN scams," whether involving bank account substitutions during exchanges, manipulation of intermediaries, or even online diversions. The scope of vulnerabilities is vast.
In this context, securing payments inevitably requires the systematic verification of IBANs before their use. Manual verification, while possible, is often a source of errors, tedious, and ineffective on a large scale. This need for reliability and automation explains why IBAN verification is now an essential building block of a secure payment system.

Anti-fraud metric

The keys to understanding the metrics of meelo anti-fraud tools

Let us continue our Immersion behind the scenes of the Meelo solution with a focus on the evaluation metrics used in our tools to combat fraud. If the Gini index remains a historic and recognized standard in the banking sector, our engagement for ever more efficient and responsible detection pushes us to go further and to integrate the most relevant metrics on the market. It is in this perspective that we have chosen to adopt, in addition to the Gini, an even finer measure in its probabilistic reading: the Brier Score. Our goal? Offer you a precise reading of your predictions and increased confidence in your decision -making. Explanations!
