B Corp as a lever for a sustainable societal impact

At Meelo, we have chosen to integrate strong values of social responsibility at the heart of our economic model. By becoming a company labeled B Corp, we affirm our commitment to combining economic performance and positive impact on the company. In this article, inspired by the Podcast Tocaté#9, discover how B Corp is a real engine to structure our societal commitment, strengthen financial inclusion and prevent impregnation.
Meelo certified B Corp

1 year that we are certified B Corp!

At Meelo, we firmly believe that it is possible to combine economic performance and social responsibility. This is why we have chosen to join the community of companies labeled B Corp, a global certification which recognizes companies that comply with high social and environmental standards while being profitable.

This approach is not a simple addition to our identity, it embodies what we are and what we want to become: a company that does good while generating economic value. Through our model, we wanted to prove that a powerful business can also be a lever to act positively on society.

Why b Corp?

The choice of B Corp certification has imposed itself on us from the moment we realized that our role was going beyond our sector of activity. The fight against fraud and the risk of unpaid is an essential part of our mission, but the way we do it and the values we carry, are just as important.

Being labeled B Corp is a way to guarantee that our company takes into account its impact on the environment, its employees, its customers and the company as a whole. It is not only a question of performing financially, but also of having a business model that positively influences society. This is what we mean by a lasting impact.

How B Corp integrates into our DNA?

B CORP certification is not a culmination, but a step in a continuous improvement course. This is why we have integrated CSR into our global strategy.

Concretely, this means that we have decided to bring this certification to life on a daily basis. To do this, we have chosen to integrate the values of B Corp directly into our OKR, a piloting system that we use to guide our actions and measure our progress.

We believe that it is not only the role of the founders or managers to carry the values of the company, but that they must be shared and embodied by each employee. Thus, each member of the team understands how their work contributes to a fairer and more responsible business model.

Our key commitments: inclusion and prevention of error

The inclusion and prevention of make -up are at the heart of our mission. As a business, we know that there are many people who are excluded from traditional financial services, whether they are self -employed workers, young workers or those on fixed -term contracts.

Thanks to open banking and our artificial intelligence expertise, we allow our customers to assess in a fair and precise way the financial management of these individuals, regardless of their professional status. The idea is to give everyone an equal chance to access financial services, depending on their behavior and not their socio-professional category.

Our work with the Cresus association, which fights against over -indebtedness, is a concrete example. We want to set up skills patronage, allowing our employees to contribute to budget management training for the association's beneficiaries, while providing technical skills in the IT field.

Be certified B Corp, its daily meaning

Becoming B Corp has changed our way of seeing the impact of our work, but it also influenced Meelo's external perception. Thanks to this certification, we have attracted talents that share our values and have strengthened the confidence of our investors.

In addition, this allows us to manage our development according to our reason for being and to adopt an inclusive and ethical strategy.

But being B Corp is also a process of continuous improvement. It is not only a question of fulfilling criteria to obtain a label, but to register it sustainably in our daily practices.

For example, we have reduced our ecological footprint by rethinking our consumption of resources, such as water and coffee, by opting for more responsible solutions. Each small gesture counts and participates in the global objective.

Meelo: mission company and change actor

In parallel with B Corp certification, we have chosen to become a mission company. This status commits us to implement concrete actions at the service of our societal mission.

The objective is not only to make financial inclusion accessible, but also to ensure that each action undertakes at Meelo contributes to a common good.

This double approach, B Corp and Société à Mission, is completed perfectly. We measure our impact objectively thanks to the external audit of B Corp, while registering our social mission in the statutes of the company. These two labels allow us to maintain total transparency with our customers, employees and partners, while proving that performance and ethics can coexist.

The retail sector crosses a major transformation, stimulated by the development of circular trade and the evolution of consumer expectations. Customers are looking for more and more flexibility and a more responsible approach to consumption, which pushes retailers to rethink their economic models. This model offers a direct response to growing demand for more sustainable consumption, and allows brands to capture new customer segments.
